ATTENTION:  MemberDirect Internet Banking Users

In order to increase the safety and security of our members we have made a change to our internet banking site.  Effective immediately you will no longer be able to add new bill payees in MemberDirect yourself.  You still have access to any payees currently set up, and it is only a quick phone call to our office to have a new payee set up.  There will be no delay, we can input the information into our system while we have you on the phone and you will see the new payee immediately.

Call the Bruno office at 369-2901 or Prud'homme at 654-2033.

FRAUD PREVENTION

Protect yourself when banking on the internet :

The first line of protection against fraud is to ensure you are exercising safe computing practices and maintaining password confidentiality.

Here are some security measures you should apply to reduce vulnerability to fraud:

  • Choose unique passwords, safeguard them and change them frequently.
  • Never disclose your PAC in a voice or email, and do not disclose it over the phone.
  • Maintain up-to-date anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall protection software.
  • Never leave your computer unattended while using our online banking services.
  • Be sure to log off, disconnect and close the internet browser after each session where online banking services have been accessed.
  • If you are concerned your computer may already be infected with a virus, you should ensure you have current anti-virus and spyware protection enabled, and seek professional technical assistance if required.

Online User Tips

  • Do not open unsolicited or unfamiliar email - spam often contains damaging software.
  • Do not click on links within unsolicited email - the link may take you to a counterfeit website that will solicit your personal and financial information - this scam is known as phishing.
  • Do not click on pop-up windows that say "you're a winner if you click here" - these can lead to spyware and malware downloads.
  • Be wary of  freeware or free services online - even innocent looking screen savers, fun cursors and Internet pets can contain hidden malware.
  • Verify the legitimacy of free software, tools and online services before you use them - research the product, tool or vendor in your search engine and scan the results.
  • Always carefully read licensing agreements and privacy agreements prior to installing software.
  • Avoid conducting online banking transactions at `hotspot' (high risk) locations such as internet cafes and libraries.
  • Do not forget to log off.
